Hello, I’m RACHEL

PIANO & VIOLIN MUSIC TEACHER

PENZANCE CORNWALL

Experienced Music Teacher

I’m a passionate, professional and very patient music teacher with over 30 years playing experience. I teach piano, violin and theory to children as young as Year 2 and adults of any age and ability.

Style & Approach

I aim to make my lessons fun and the style of music chosen is tailored to each individual student, so that they are studying repertoire that they ENJOY, rather than learning set traditional classical music which children can sometimes struggle to relate to and their interest can wane.

Students study the ABRSM syllabus when taking grades (1-8). This is the most established and professional music examination body in the world, geared predominantly towards young musicians keen to study music professionally as a future career.

I can prepare my more serious and talented students for concerts, competitions, auditions, music scholarships and ABRSM grades but enjoyment of lessons and learning is always of paramount importance during this process.

It can help to comprehend difficult emotions and experiences. Research has shown that music can lift your mood and encourage creativity. The ability to make music further enhances all these benefits.
